Did you know that people are scientifically proven to be happier in the summer? If you notice yourself feeling happier and more energetic in the warmer months of the year, you aren’t alone. Summertime is not only the most popular time for weddings, birthdays, and other fun outdoor activities, but it also has longer and warmer days for everyone to enjoy.

If you’re as excited for summer as we are, then you’re probably already planning fun weekend trips and looking into other exciting activities. Here are some of our summer activities in Fullerton, located just minutes from your apartment!

Take a Walk through the Fullerton Farmers Market

We love a good farmers market, and the one in downtown Fullerton is great! Having opened in 1991, the Fullerton Farmers Market has been around for 30 years now. It’s one of our favorite places to go on a Thursday evening in the summer to walk around the booths and pick out fresh produce. We also love to enjoy the live music and on-site foods prepared there. If you have kids, there are even children-friendly events and activities for them to enjoy.

Even better, the farmers market is only about two miles away from Highland Pinetree Apartment Homes, making it one of the easiest summer activities in Fullerton to experience.

Have a Picnic Next to Laguna Lake Park

There are so many beautiful and serene parks in Fullerton, but one of our favorites is Laguna Lake Park. With picnic tables, benches, bathrooms, and a beautiful view of the largest lake in Fullerton, California, it is the best place to settle in with your best friends for a nice picnic and a day out in the sun.

The park also has a trail encircling the lake that leads to other hikes through or near the lake. If you’re looking for hikes near Fullerton, Laguna Lake Park makes an ideal starting or ending point for anything near the lake.

Enjoy an Event at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center is a beautiful building that was built by the Muckenthalers in 1925 and is now owned by the City of Fullerton and managed by The Muckenthaler Cultural Center Foundation. Not only is the center one of the most popular wedding venues in the Fullerton area, but it also hosts nearly 100 events every year.

Between concerts in their outdoor amphitheater, a recording studio, ceramics classes, music festivals, and paint-and-sip evenings, the center is an important hub for summer activities in Fullerton.

Attend Outdoor Concerts and Movies

This summer in Orange County, the OC Parks Summer Concert Series and Sunset Cinema Film Series are back! From June 18 to September 10, there will be 10 free concerts and 13 free movie showings. The concerts will be on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m., with the music beginning at 6:00 p.m. The movie nights will be on Fridays at 6:00 p.m., with the movie beginning at sundown. Visit the website to see a schedule of the events.
